Poutine is one of Quebec's most iconic dishes, and it's easy to see why. With its crispy fries, melted cheese, and savory sauce, it's the perfect blend of textures and flavors. Here's a simple recipe for making your own homemade poutine, Thai-style.


Ingredients :

  • 1 chicken breast
  • Fries (desired quantity)
  • 250g to 350g of curd cheese
  • Chopped green onions (to taste)
  • 1 1/2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 1/2 tbsp water

Ingredients for Thai sauce :

  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp. of Thai spices “Les Mélangés”

Preparation :

  1. Cook the chicken in a pan with a little oil, salt and pepper and cut it into cubes, keep warm.
  2. Mix the starch and water in a glass.
  3. In a small saucepan, combine the sauce ingredients. Bring to a boil.
  4. When the sauce is boiling, slowly add the starch and water mixture to the sauce, stirring until the sauce thickens.
  5. Assemble the poutine in this order: 1. cheese, 2. fries, 3. sauce, 4. cheese, 5. sauce and finish with green onions.
  6. Enjoy!
